1. Soak feet in warm soapy water. Lightly dry feet. 
2. Rub the coarse surface side of the file over rough callused skin in a side-to-side-motion. Use the smooth side in the same manner to smooth and polish skin. 
3. Rinse and lay flat to dry after each use.
